Aaron Lupuloff serves as Senior Executive Director of the Gwinnett County Public Schools (GCPS) Foundation to further his passion for cultivating student success and nurturing future leaders. The Foundation works to keep students successful, fund scholarships, innovate new ideas in education, support teaching, foster leadership, and finance programs to build future success. It seeks to build strong schools for the Gwinnett community.

Mr. Lupuloff is a Norcross native who has worked for a wide number of educational institutions in the area, serving as the President, Vice President, and Treasurer of the Norcross High School Foundation for Excellence, which supports high school academics, arts, and athletics. He also worked as a booster club officer, and member of multiple sports teams and clubs. He and his wife have been inducted into the NHS Hall of Fame.

Aaron Lupuloff was a founder and sometime board member of the Georgia Tech Parents Advisory Board. He and his wife currently sit on the University of Georgia Student Affairs Advisory Board. They support a wide range of scholarships and charities focused on Georgia education.

Mr. Lupuloff has a background in finance and decided to get involved in education as a way to give back to Georgia. “It made me believe that with the GCPS Foundation we could help Gwinnett’s 180,000+ students if we just rolled up our sleeves and went to work,” he said in a recent interview. Aaron Lupuloff is an outside thinker whose passion for education is linked to the maverick spirit that underlies his success. “Don’t be afraid to fail and fail often!” is his slogan. TigerSwan is a North Carolina-based security and consulting company that helps companies effectively manage risks. James Reese, the founder and CEO of TigerSwan, created the company with the goal of providing veterans with an opportunity to utilize their valuable leadership skills to make contributions in the private sector. When James Reese retired from the military in 2007 he was in that same position of having exceptional skills that now needed to find useful space in civilian life. Reese had reached the pinnacles of the military profession as a decorated combat leader, a Lt. Colonel, and a member of the famous “Delta Force”. James Reese came up with the concept for TigerSwan in 2007 while finishing his final rotation in Iraq. He launched the company, using his own capital, and soon received a major contract from the United States government. TigerSwan was selected as part of a program to support Service-Disabled, Veteran-Owned, Small Businesses (known as SDVOSB). This much-needed influx of capital was then re-invested into the business, allowing TigerSwan to grow to the mature company of today. With 300 employees and projects in 40 countries, TigerSwan is now a significant force in the lives of many people.

When Reese reflects on the many differences between being part of the military and being the owner of a business, he points out leadership is easier in the military. Military leaders are given a team that has already been vetted, developed and is ready to perform at a high level. By contrast, leaders in the private sector have to make tough decisions about what qualities they need and what they can realistically afford to pay for those qualities. Reese argues that finding a balance between getting the best people and not going over the budget for payroll is only the beginning. Business leaders also have to mentor each member of the team to help them develop the qualities they need to succeed. Reese is motivated by feeling personally responsible for the success of every member of his team. Employees depend on TigerSwan to help them pay their mortgages, put their children through college and meet other financial obligations that will hugely impact their lives. Reese observes that navigating these challenges is actually harder than being part of Delta Force, but also that it’s his military background that makes him uniquely prepared for tackling the challenges of running a business.

TigerSwan gives former military members the opportunity to thrive in the private sector. Reese believes his business has benefitted from the sense of “Mission First” that former military members possess. Nitin is the CEO of Mergertech. The firm provides tech consulting services. After graduating from Purdue, Khanna started working for Oracle. He is based in Portland and has built a successful career. He was born in India, and his father was a colonel in the army. Most of his family members engaged in business, and he followed in their footsteps. He spent a lot of time in business firms and recorded what he learned. As a young boy, he had developed a plan to become an entrepreneur.

Nitin Khanna attended The Lawrence School, one of the best boarding schools in India. The school encouraged students to pursue their dreams and never to give in. This inspired Nitin Khanna to remain optimistic when faced with difficulties. During an interview, he was asked what advice he would give his younger self, and he said he would tell his younger self to be patient. He was frantic when he became an entrepreneur and constantly thought of failure. Anxiety held him back, and he contends that he could have achieved more if he had been steady. He would also advise his younger self to work hard, be ethical, plan and keep your eye on your mission.

Nitin Khanna moved to the US when he was 17 years old to join Purdue University. He studied industrial engineering and a master’s degree in the same course. He thought of doing a doctorate but abandoned the idea. He was hired by International Paper, where he worked for two years. He developed an interest in technology as he thought it was the future of business. He worked for Oracle from 1995 until 1998. He and his brother started a new business called Saber Software. He spent time growing the business, and it became successful.

The tech company had massive success when the child welfare services decided to use its software. It soon became the largest provider of government software solutions in the US. The company has more than 1 000 employees. Nitin Khanna is also an investor and has invested in several companies in Portland. Khanna says what helped him succeed was identifying opportunities and taking risks.

The Gwinnett Public School Foundation has just embraced a total of six fresh individuals. These people are now going to be part of the group. Nick Saban functioned as the keynote speaker for the evening, too. He’s a football coach in the state of Alabama. He did a lot in the beginning of May as well. He announced the addition of six admired “Hall of Fame” members. This was for the aforementioned Gwinnett Public School system.

David Saville is the name of an individual who talked at the event. Spectators were extremely motivated and awed by all of the words that came out of his mouth as well. He’s had Down Syndrome since birth. Down Syndrome, in a nutshell, is a kind of genetic component that’s often linked to issues with the functioning of the brain. People know about Saville in all different parts of the vast United States. That’s due to the fact that he hasn’t let Down syndrome interfere with all of his ambitions on this planet. He comes from Norcross in Georgia and used to work as the football equipment supervisor for the Blue Devils. He at the moment works in the same position for Clemson. Saville is a ClemsonLIFE alumnus. Aaron Lupuloff is an alumnus of the University of Alabama in pleasant Tuscaloosa, Alabama. He studied Business Administration while he was at the sizable public institution of higher learning. He has a background in management that has spanned more than 20 years total. He in the past had employment through a company that’s called JP Morgan or Bear Stearns. Build it and they will come, right? That’s exactly what Sam Chaudhary and Liam Don, founders of the classroom communication platform Class Dojo, did. After several conversations with teachers, students and parents, the idea was born. The tool, currently used in 2 in 3 schools in the US and in 180 other countries, fosters effective regular communication between parents & teachers about how students are behaving and performing in the classroom. And it’s changing the game from the ground-up.

Founded in 2011, the free app – that’s right, free – is effectively creating a positive culture with classrooms and schools. In its infancy, the app’s primary focus was on communicating with parents about students’ behavior – awarding children with points when they behaved well or put a new skill into practice. That has since evolved into teachers being able to send photo and video messages to parents of activities going on in the classroom. This idea of daily communication between parents and teachers, versus the once a semester parent-teacher conference, is one that makes you wonder, “why didn’t anyone think of this sooner?”

As a parent that has actually experienced Class Dojo firsthand, I have nothing but praise for it. And my experience was about 2 years ago – before the sharing of video and photo messages. Nonetheless, I checked the app every day to see what kind of day my son (6 years old at the time) was having – and he knew it. Not only was I very much engaged with the app, my son was too. He would get excited when he had a great day and asked me to check it when I picked him up from school. As a better alternative to email, Class Dojo was a quick and easy way for his teacher and I to communicate. The sense of connection, as well as empowerment, that it creates between teacher, student and parent is unmatched. So much so, that this school year I found myself missing it when my son moved to a school that does not currently use it.

Since its inception 5 years ago, Class Dojo has not only increased parent engagement but that of students as well. That increased engagement has led to the introduction of a series of animated videos on growth mindset, which aims to affect students’ perceptions of themselves as learners. Helping them develop and strengthen their intelligence and their ability to learn, and dispelling the notion that either you’re “born smart” or you’re not. A concept that speaks to the passion the company was founded on: to make education better around the world. Chaudhary and Don, I think you’re onto something.
