The Group started producing its panels and ceiling tiles in 1954. The company installed its first mill known as Fiberboard Industrial Unit in 1954 in Salto, Sao Paulo. It started its activities by manufacturing soft boards and shortly afterward expanded to produce panels and ceiling tiles. Eucatex continued to increase its production capacity to produce paints and varnishes, initially used to coat the company’s panels and ceiling tiles. It was during this period that it started exporting its products to Europe and opened representative offices in the United Kingdom, Holland, Germany, and Mexico.
The industrial evolution of Eucatex has been attributed to the growth of its forests. The forests ensure a continuous supply of the company’s raw material – eucalyptus fiber. The forests are managed according to the strict social, economic and environmental standards.
