Vijay Eswaran is a highly respected Malaysian businessman. Presently, he serves as QI Group’s executive chairman. The company has operational headquarters in Hong Kong. He was born in Penang and raised in several parts of Malaysia because his parents worked for the government. Vijay enrolled at the London School of Economics. In 1984, he graduated with a degree in socio-economics. He opted to stay in Europe. While in Europe, he engaged in a number of odd jobs such as plucking grapes. Vijay worked at a construction site in Belgium and drove a taxi in London.
The idea of venturing into the binary system marketing materialized when he was in UK. Vijay enrolled for a marketing program, CIMA, and earned a professional qualification. In 1986, Vijay joined Southern Illinois University where he pursued an MBA. During this period, he was engaged in multilevel marketing. Vijay worked for Synaptics. After moving back to Malaysia, he became serious about multi-level marketing. COSWAY group approached him to head its business, which was launching in the Philippines.
In 1998, he formed QI Group. The firm started as a multilevel marketing company. It grew to becoming one of the premier e-commerce based businesses. Vijay is also an author and speaker. He has spoken broadly at business and management forums like the sixth edition of Pravasi Bharatiya that is held in India. He has delivered keynote speeches at the World Economic Forum.
He published his first book in 2005. The book is called “In the Sphere of Silence.” It elaborates on Vijay’s personal life and his management philosophy. His second book is known as “In the Thinking Zone.” Vijay has also created a TOD program called Thought of the Day. It is a collection of thoughts and reflections on life. In 2010, his third book called “On the Wings of Thought” was launched. It is a collection of Vijay’s photography.
